ANDS Launch

Event Date:
21 April 2015

A groundbreaking study of Australian driver behaviour has been launched to change thinking surrounding crashes, along with the roles played by speeding, distraction and outside factor. More than 360 volunteer drivers across NSW and Victoria will monitored by a suite of cameras and sensors in a landmark study of Australian driver behaviour that will shape road rules in years to come.

The Australian Naturalistic Driving Study (ANDS) aims to understand what people do when driving their cars in everyday and safety-critical situations. Results will be used to develop new road safety programs, policies and products that are expected to save many lives and prevent many serious injuries.
